Tazapay is a cloud-based trade management platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to conduct cross-border commerce safely.

Lack of trust is one of the biggest inhibitors for B2B cross-border businesses. Buyers and sellers tend to work only with known and trusted parties, thereby limiting their business opportunities.

Tazapay enables access to various services for conducting cross-border trade safely, including payment protection via escrow, formalising trade agreements with digitally signed agreements and counterparty risk assessment.

By aggregating all the products and services that merchants need to capture and manage a trade, Tazapay aims to be the system of record for millions of small and medium importers and exporters – many of whom don’t have access to the essential tools for cross-border trade.

Tazapay was founded in April 2020 by Arul Kumaravel, Rahul Shinghal and Saroj Mishra. Arul, who was Grab’s VP of Engineering, also served as Head of Engineering for Amazon’s mobile platform and spent 15 years at Microsoft in product and engineering roles. Rahul, who has over two decades of payments and high-growth internet experience, was MD of PayPal Southeast Asia and Head of APAC for Stripe. Saroj has spent 23 years in investment banking, treasury and trade finance with jobs at Standard Chartered and CitiBank. He was also the co-founder of Bayfront Capital Advisors, a corporate advisory firm spanning ASEAN, India, Europe and Australia.
