Last9 is a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Platform that makes running systems at scale embarrassingly easy.
Last9, which is currently in stealth mode, was founded by Nishant Modak and Piyush Verma.
The duo, who have worked together for several years, built and ran a large-scale next-generation cloud-based credit risk solution that generated 700 million credit scores for various lenders across Southeast Asia. From the many learnings gained from building large scale systems came the idea for Last9, which is currently deployed in closed beta at some of the largest websites in India and ASEAN.
Nishant, Last9’s founder and CEO, has deep roots in the open-source community, having spent several years organizing Distributed Systems Conferences and SRE meetups in Pune and Bangalore. He has founded several startups, including Oogway, which was acquired by Trusting Social. He has also helped build several important consumer products for Gojek, including GoFood and GoLife, which have scaled to serve millions of consumers daily.
Piyush, who is co-founder and CTO, was previously head of SRE and DevOps at TrustingSocial. He was also the architect of Datastax’s managed cloud offering for hosting Cassandra, which is used by several Fortune 500 companies. He has helped build several important consumer products across SEA at Gojek and FinAccel which have scaled to serve millions of consumers daily.
